FIFA with new tests of offside technology during the Club World Cup

FIFA will carry out new tests on the technologies used to detect extremities in footballers' bodies to analyze offside shots during the Club World Cup that will take place between Thursday and February 12 in the United Arab Emirates.

“Thanks to this new source of information and the processing offered by artificial intelligence visualization companies, an entire game can be visualized as a virtual animation with just a few seconds of delay, allowing the coaching staff, coaches and doctors to examine the match with a completely new approach”, explains the organization.

FIFA assumes that these technologies even open up new opportunities in other areas, such as video games, which can progress in the proximity and personalization of user experiences.

“The fusion of the real world with the digital is evolving at great speed and will end up transforming the way football is consumed”, analyzes the director of eFootball and Gaming at FIFA.

Despite understanding that "it's still too early" for definitive conclusions, Christian Volk says that "tests have shown that fans can experience matches like never before".

The director of FIFA's football innovation and technology branch, Johannes Holzmüller, argues that access to this new data will "benefit football", considering that this will make decision-making "more effective and objective".
